When I was a child we didn’t celebrate Halloween in my country, so when we moved I was amazed by this greatest day of the year! Every year we have a party with my friends, and this is so much fun; I feel like a child when I’m dressing-up or go trick-or-treating with my kids.
Share with us your favorite Halloween candies from childhood or your favorite Halloween memories, and enter to win a treat bag of vintage goodies! We will do a random drawing from the posts on Friday, November 5th.
To get the ball started, I vividly remember Halloween as a child. I grew up in Charlotte, NC, and my dad was a high school English teacher. Every year, Dad would borrow the movie projector and screen from the school library and would show Halloween cartoons such as The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Donald Duck’s Trick or Treat in our driveway. Since Halloweens in Charlotte were typically nice, it worked great! We would line up a row of chairs and pass around a giant bowl of popcorn, which Dad also made by the ton. Our neighborhood was full of children and all of them would hang out in our driveway watching cartoons. Mom, would also be handing out homemade popcorn balls to the trick-or-treaters. Very special memories!
Now, share yours! We can’t wait to hear from you!
